We are incredible proud to share that NextGenLeaders, one of our key Enactus UK & Ireland programmes, took home the “Climate Pioneer” Award at the 2026 P.E.A Awards.

This time around we celebrated the success of our young Changemakers at our NextGen Leaders final Celebration Event. A day packed of youth-led innovation and inspiring stories.

We are thrilled to share that we are expanding our partnership with BDO to accelerate the development of our NextGenLeaders programme, which supports schools located in social mobility cold spots within the Yorkshire and Humber region.

We kick-off 2026 with the first intervention of the year from our Schools Programme, NextGenLeaders, The Project Development Day in Leeds. An action-packed day designed to help student teams refine their ideas and transform them into actionable social impact projects.

NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education), in partnership with York St John University and supported by the Institute for Social Justice’s VSCE-Academic Research Programme, hosted a session for teachers to preview upcoming research aimed at enhancing our understanding of provision for more able disadvantaged learners.

On 4 November, the BDO Leeds office became the pilot launchpad for the NextGenLeaders Volunteer Programme, kicking off an exciting initiative for BDO to work with local young people to champion social mobility.

York St John University’s Community Research in Practice: event brought together VCSE groups and researchers to share learning and insight. Our ongoing work with York St John University reflects this spirit, showing how youth-centred research can spark change.

130 young people from ten Yorkshire schools came together in October for the NextGenLeaders Welcome Event — and left with the spark to lead real change in their communities. At NextGenLeaders, we believe in turning up — and in passion driving progress.

Becks Wheately, leader of our NextGenLeaders programme, joined researchers, community organisations, and practitioners at the West Yorkshire “JUST in Place” workshop, marking the launch of regional research activity for the Joined-Up Sustainability Transformations (JUST) Centre.

NextGenLeaders, has been nominated for Community Organisation of the Year by the Leeds Compassionate City Awards! This nomination recognises our programme dedicated to cultivating the generation of responsible leaders.
