Scaling Our Impact: BDO Partnership Update
We are thrilled to share that we are expanding our partnership with BDO to accelerate the development of our NextGenLeaders programme, which supports schools located in social mobility cold spots within the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Our NextGenLeaders programme uses project-based learning to build essential responsible leadership skills early on. School students work in teams to address real community issues, developing problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills through the process of identifying needs and creating solutions. The programme yields real community action and impact while helping students develop crucial workplace capabilities that employers consistently seek.
NextGenLeaders Project Development day 2026
Our expanded agreement with BDO is designed to extend coverage across all UK regions, aligning early skills development with longer-term regional growth. Our mission alongside BDO is to scale the community impact of the programme while ensuring that responsible leadership development opportunities are available to all students through our Enactus and NextGenLeaders programmes.
In our previous partnership years, BDO has been a cornerstone in accelerating our goals of driving community impact and developing the skills of our young Changemakers. In our latest collaboration, 12 BDO volunteers attended our NextGenLeaders Project Development Day, supporting student teams in developing their projects. The presence of expert BDO coaches was essential, students who worked with a volunteer on the day reported significantly better outcomes, averaging 15 percentage points higher across all measures (confidence, idea development, and usefulness).
Enactus World Cup Qualifier Rounds at BDO HQs, Leeds
Across our Universities programme, BDO hosted one of our Enactus World Cup Qualifier rounds at their headquarters in Leeds. With 12 judges at the Leeds qualifier session and 16 BDO judges across our 6 qualifier sessions throughout the UK and Ireland, students had the opportunity to receive expert feedback, with over 30 social enterprises benefiting from BDO judges' insights.
The potential and impact generated through meaningful partnerships is clearly evidenced in our joint efforts with BDO. Across our regional qualifiers, BDO judges were essential in driving impact from youth-led social enterprises that have positively affected over 500 beneficiaries. Furthermore, our mission to upskill the next generation of responsible leaders is evident in the impact coaches made on younger generations, developing their problem-solving and community awareness by helping them turn their ideas into action.
