Coaching Development Session: A Step Towards Coaching4Impact
This week, we hosted our first coaching development session as part of our Coaching4Impact programme. Our coaching programme connects volunteers with students, offering corporate volunteers a meaningful development opportunity as they coach Enactus teams on their projects. Our session saw over 20 coaches from our different partner organisations take part in our development session as part of their preparation ahead of our Coaching4Impact programme.
Our coaching programme is designed to help volunteers strengthen both individual and professional skills through a low-risk and flexible framework. In this first virtual development session, coaches were introduced to core insights and approaches that underpin effective coaching. Our aim was to build their confidence and encourage strategic coaching rather than reactive coaching ahead of their future sessions.
Coaches explored important concepts such as recognising common limitations in coaching, avoiding the trap of solving the wrong problem, and understanding when not to reinvent the wheel. They were also introduced to practical tools, including the 5 Whys and the Root Cause Ladder, to help them approach coaching more strategically, contributing directly to their personal and professional development. We further encouraged them to focus on identifying and strengthening existing solutions rather than creating entirely new ones unnecessarily.
We are delighted with the success of this development session and excited for what lies ahead within our Coaching4Impact programme. This session played a pivotal role in upskilling our coaches, helping maximise and accelerate our impact as we continue our mission to develop the next generation of responsible leaders through meaningful, experience-based learning opportunities.
