Ford Mobility Accelerator is a 6-week virtual programme designed to help students from across the UK and Ireland turn ideas into impactful enterprises that solve real-world social and environmental challenges connected to mobility.

Over the course of 6 weeks, students will learn how to identify a need in their community and develop an innovative solution to address this, all while developing their personal skills in empathy, leadership and business, helping them grow into the next generation of responsible leaders! 🌟

What is the Ford Mobility Accelerator?

Ford Mobility Accelerator is a 6-week virtual programme run by Enactus UK & Ireland in partnership with Ford. Launching in February 2026, the programme is designed to help students from across the UK and Ireland turn ideas into impactful enterprises that solve real-world social and environmental challenges.

Enactus has worked with thousands of students over the last 20 years to empower them with the tools, confidence, and support to start businesses that drive positive change. Now is your chance to get involved! Ford Mobility Accelerator is open to all students across the UK & Ireland , regardless of experience, background or course of study. Don’t worry if you don’t have an idea yet – Enactus will help you identify a need and develop one! All you need is a passion for making the world a better place

What is the Ford Mobility Accelerator Challenge?

Our 6-week flexible online programme provides a step-by-step guide to developing impactful social projects. Students will learn practical tools used by social innovators, get support from industry experts, and benefit from hands-on learning that develops the skills employers want to see. Even more, ideas developed will have the opportunity to pitch for funding to kick-start their project and really create something that makes a difference in the world.

Students’ projects can relate to mobility in a variety of ways including transportation, social mobility and physical health and wellness. The Ford Mobility Accelerator encourages students to look deeply at these issues and their root causes, before creating solutions that accurately address these mobility-based needs in their communities.

Launch: Student have the opportunity to win funding and bring your idea to life! Join us at the Enactus NextGen Takeover at London’s ExCel centre in April for a masterclass on pitching your project.

FAQs

No! This programme is open to all students, whether you have an idea already or just a passion for making the world a better place.
The programme involves attending one online session per week (ranging between 20 - 40 minutes) and taking some additional time for your project development. However long this takes depends on your pace, so feel free to complete activities whenever you can!
Yes! You can join the Enactus x Ford Mobility Accelerator with a team of up to 3 people.
Don’t worry! We’d rather you join the session live, but if you miss a session for any reason, you can watch the recording back at a later date.
Yes! As long as you are attending a British or Irish university, we would love to have you on the programme. The only small caveat is that you will need a British or Irish bank account for any funding won as part of the programme.
You'll learn how to apply design thinking principles, create sustainable business models, measure impact, and project planning. The programme also includes guidance on pitching and applying for funding.
Any student with an interest in making a positive change, or using business for good regardless of whether they already have an idea or are starting fresh.
You must be currently studying at a UK or Irish university.
No prior experience is needed! The programme is designed to support students at all levels, from beginners to early-stage innovators.
