Celebrating Global Impact: Enactus World Cup 2025

Last weekend marked the beginning of the 2025 Enactus World Cup, a milestone year celebrating both the 25th Enactus World Cup and the 50th anniversary of Enactus. Hosted in the vibrant city of Bangkok, this year’s event brought together National Champion teams from over 30 countries and more than 1,500 of the world’s brightest student innovators at the newly renovated Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

The 2025 theme, Generation:Re, celebrates young changemakers who are working to reimagine, restore, and redefine the future, from revitalising local economies to restoring ecosystems and rethinking the role of business in driving social good.

Representing Enactus UK & Ireland on the world stage, Enactus Cardiff from Cardiff University achieved an incredible milestone by reaching the Top 16 in the global competition, a remarkable feat for a team that has been active for just over a year. Their pioneering project, Spiruflow, features a photobioreactor designed to reduce atmospheric CO₂ levels in a cost-effective and energy-efficient way. The team’s rapid progress and commitment to creating real-world impact has been inspiring.

Huge congratulations to Enactus Canada and their team from Saint Mary’s University, who were crowned World Cup Champions with their outstanding projects Square Roots and Alaagi. Both of these projects demonstrated scalable, sustainable solutions to pressing environmental and food insecurity challenges.

“In watching the top pitches from around the world and seeing the incredible impact these students are creating in their communities, something shifted in me. Watching people my own age lead such meaningful projects helped quiet a lot of my self-doubt and made me think that if others can do it, why can’t I?” - Laura Fleming, Winnner of the iTwin4Good Challenge, UCD

The success of Enactus Cardiff reflects the transformative power of experiential learning and responsible enterprise. With the support of our programme across the UK & Ireland, and thanks to the generosity of partners such as British Airways, who supported the team’s travel to Bangkok, our students continue to prove that purposeful business can drive meaningful global change.

As we look ahead, we’re thrilled to announce that the 2026 Enactus World Cup will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, the first time the event will be hosted in South America. We can’t wait to see what innovative ideas and inspiring stories next year’s competition will bring.

A heartfelt thank you to our delegation in Thailand and the wider Enactus UK & Ireland network who supported from afar. The 2025 Enactus World Cup has once again showcased the creativity, resilience, and leadership of a generation determined to build a better world.
